Frequently asked questions

Does Dhala replace a vet?

No. Dhala analyses movement as the camera captured it and shows which limb carries signs of lameness. A result is not a veterinary examination or diagnosis and does not replace a veterinarian when needed.

How do I film correctly?

Film from the side in landscape, on flat firm ground, with the animal trotting in a straight line for 5–30 seconds. The app shows an illustrated guide first.

When do I pay?

After you submit. Your exam is analysed even before payment, and the result unlocks once you pay.

How long does a result take?

Usually within hours. You can follow the exam status live in the app and get a notification when it’s ready.

What if my video isn’t clear?

We ask you to film again, with the reason and guide images — retakes are free.

Does it work on Android?

Dhala is currently available on iPhone only.

Do credits expire?

Purchased credits and codes never expire. Free gifts have a set validity period.

How can I tell if my camel is lame?

With forelimb lameness the head rises with the lame limb as it lands; with hind limb lameness the pelvis rises with the lame limb. The stride may shorten or the camel may drag a limb. Film it with Dhala and the analysis helps show which limb carries the signs.

Is Dhala suitable for racing camels in training?

Yes. Dhala is built for racing camel owners and trainers: film the camel trotting, enter its speedometer reading, and track it with periodic exams before race day.

What does “Dhala” mean?

Dhala (ظلع) is the Arabic word for lameness: a change in gait to take weight off a painful limb.
